I have some new color and monochrome digital illustration design ideas I created entirely on my iPad designed by rewl landscape scenery I recently observed. Below are some of these results. Keep in mind, that it was created in monochrome on an iPad, and most of the versions have no to little color. The way these illustrations formed was that a couple days ago I came back from a trip to a Northern Polish coastal town (Baltic sea) called Stegna. While I was there someone suggested I draw something or illustrate a scene I found captivating. However, I also added some assets (duck and bear) from a previous pastel drawing I did by hand of a duck flying and a small cub bear looking up at it. I decided to add these assets and to go over them a bit digitally and added thm into my latest drawing. This is why you see the bear and duck in the images above. Here is the original pocture and drawing of it before I added these animals into the piece: As you see from above, I drew some of the trees wnd brushes present in the scene — and I did it looking at the scene bot copying from photo or going over a photo with my iPad stylues over it. Most of it is my imagination besides a few key points like the tree in the middle that curves upward. One of the images above is also an experiment I may continue working on and this is combining photography with hand-drawn or digitally created works. I may play around with this idea for a background so look for more images on here as I may updste this post. In this version I have kept the pastel hand drawing of the bear and duck but made them more proportional in terms of size: I added some layers of color on top, but unfortunately before I realized it, I was working on a lower-res version I had to later upscwle to 1080p and when blown up it shows its blurryness. I may redo one of the other ones with a similar layer of color on top or even redo it all in color. A monochrome version with shadow also fixed: Here is the final version I have thus far or in my opinion the best one. I played around with the contrast via the curves function and added some grain for deeper texture. As I already mentioned, I will keep working on this piece and different ideas using its content or assets, such as vectorizing it via Adobe Illustrator’s trace; or this can also be done by redoing the blurry version with color from one of the earlier higher-res versions.
So keep checking back for more content... [edit] For updated and this time vectorized versions of the illustrations, albeit without any wildlife and just the landscape itself, go to a new entry on my news page.
