As you may know from the last blog post if you have read it, there is a new video trailer available showing my new pixel art work. However, I only focused on a gameboy-like user interface in the last blog post and did not have a chance to showcase the latest work. I will do so here. Here is a pixel art tower I have created and later put it into Illustrator, digitised it or made it vector via traced and worked with it further. You will see this tower in the collage or layout version of the pixel art graphic below. The idea was to first create a header image for the beginning of the trailer. I did this by using various individual designs and putting them together as layers on my iPad using Artstudio Pro. Then I refined it further adding different design ideas: Below is a more widescreen version that I also created for a Wordpress hero or header image. Notice how the right eye is white and has a form matching the left and how the character is mirrored on top amongst other small changes. Notice the image in the center of the bottom section. I tried to go for the Zelda a Link to the Past Overworld map look for it. The overall aesthetics also turned out very gaming related. The horse warrior in pixelated form I did at a whim, which you see at the beginning of the trailer. I did it because I wanted to include the horse warrior in there, but did not have a pixel art version of it before and wanted to keep with the theme of the overall transitions from digital to pixels. It turned out sort of Commodore 64 or real lowres and old-school gaming like: I also created a low resolution version at a whim of one of the warrior pieces: Stronger mix between pure digital and pixel art: Here is a pattern made from the horse rider image I have previously created and a pixelized variant: This is the trailer in case you missed it from the previous blog post:
