If you follow this blog, you may have noticed my last post (older versions here) updating my 'Warriors Find Magical Crystal' digital illustration with graphic design bells and whistles, such as a ray-traced version. I have decided to put this raster version of it into Adobe Illustrator and see if I could trace it well and maybe add some special effects onto it.
I think some of the versions that resulted from this experiment turned out pretty well or at least interesting. I also have the PDF files for each of them saved and as they are vector filed they should be easily printable. I am actually thinking of printing some myself and taking a photo for you all to see how they look or turn out as printed.
Edit, since publishing this post I have fixed the sword handle to make it more straight. However, the side effect of this is the fact it is much longer now, which is interesting all onto itself:
If you are interested in the PDF files or working with me in any way, please let me know. Also, keep in mind that I can do this same vector treatment to the other versions you can see in my last blog post and add interesting effects to those versions as well.
I also took out the bending of the sword and shield on the main warrior near the crystal and fixed the hand holding the blade. Here is the raster image (two versions as the second has the figure in back fixed) created on iPad with Apple Pencil and below it are vectorized versions from Adobe Illustrator. Keep in mind, I have the pdf files of those versions as well in RGB and CMYK.
As you see the image above has a more straight sword although by fixing it (from image below) it became quite a bit longer.
The version below turned out interesting after applying an Instagram filter to the jpeg called Structure. It is strange how it seems to have went back to the older versions before editing (which you see above) where the sword curve was not fixed with the handle. But other aspects turned out great.
Playing around with pixel art of the versions above here:
I may add the PDF (printable CMYK) versions to the cart here and also print outs once I find a print shop here in town that is not closed and has descent and not rude customer service so I can do shipping. It would be easier to just sell PDF versions you can print on your own however or at your local print shops vs international shipping and handling on my part.
Keep in mind that when changing to CMYL the color changed a bit but some of them also came with an interesting look of their own. Upon, request I may send those version screenshots or put them in a car or later add them onto this post.
Also keep in mind I can add text for you on request.
